Three Possible Trades (NBA Players) Utah Jazz Need to Keep An Eye On

You shouldn't adjust to the Utah Jazz as a squad. The roster looks solid, but you shouldn't get acclimated to anyone because the team may be going through some changes this season. Former Boston Celtics executive Danny Ainge, who is well-known for making audacious transactions and hoarding draft picks, is currently leading the Jazz.

He has begun doing the same thing with the Jazz, assisting them in obtaining a significant number of first-round draft selections. Given the key assets on the roster that could still be sold, it's probable that Ainge isn't done either. However, Ainge might also try to sign an NBA Superstar like Giannis Antetokounmpo or Luka Doncic with the assets he has already accumulated.

It is reasonable to conclude that the roster is far from stable or full. There are still big moves to come, but it's unclear who will be dealt with. Trades have become increasingly likely as a result of this uncertainty and the lack of a certified starter at the point guard position. Because a handful of the players on this list can assist with defence, playing point guard, or even winning a championship, the Jazz should give them some thought. While the team isn't far enough away from contention to rule out adding a big name to bolster the squad, they also shouldn't get too close to contending just by doing so.

So, regardless of the path the Jazz take, here is a list of three players we believe could be helpful.

#1. Elfrid Payton

In some circumstances, pursuing someone like Elfrid Payton makes perfect sense, even though it might not seem like the wisest course of action on paper. With the current roster, you won't be pursuing Payton today. Point guards are already surrounded by enough doubts; you don't want to introduce any more.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Hornets are both interested in the defensive-minded point guard, so it appears that he may soon be making a comeback to the league. Therefore, why not rejoin the Utah Jazz in the league?

Although Payton isn't coming today, the Jazz may find that he and players like Kris Dunn and Collin Sexton aren't cutting it. Payton has a strong passing record and is a skilled defender. In the unlikely event that you end up moving players like Jordan Clarkson or Sexton for guys like Dunn and Talen Horton-Tucker, he might also be a consideration. Regardless of whether those players are dealt for prospects or draft selections, or if they are part of a bigger deal to acquire a prominent player this season, Payton may join the team and be a valuable addition.

Provided that no one signs him first.

#2. Danilo Gallinari

The Utah Jazz would be wise to sign Danilo Callinari. Though he is 35 years old, his skill level remains high enough for him to provide the Jazz with a reliable scoring option. The Jazz don't need another score-first forward, but they might try to get Gallinari if they wind up making any trades in the future to clear the roster or bring in a big name.

The Italian great is currently a member of the Washington Wizards, but his time with the organisation is limited. Their greatest players, Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal, have already been dealt with as they embark on a full-scale reconstruction.

While Porzingis is currently in Boston with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Bela is currently in Phoenix with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The Wizards have no incentive to hold onto Gallinari, and they will be inclined to trade him if a team makes a strong offer.

Now that the Jazz have acquired him, two things will become clear: first, how well his shooting is going this season, and second, how well the club is performing in the postseason. It makes sense that the team would try to get the Italian legend if they are among the top six in the Western Conference.

#3. Lamar Stevens

With a very distinct twist, Lamar Stevens joins the discourse having proven his worth with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is not a strike-first forward like Danilo Gallinari. No, Stevens plays defensively from the start, which is advantageous for the Utah Jazz in particular. Although the Jazz has the players and mentality to play exceptional defense, it's currently unknown how good the squad can be in that area.

Though it's a pipe dream, there are great expectations that the three rookies, Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, and Brice Sensabaugh, may enter and improve the defense. You only know what you have in a rookie player once you see what you have in them. They are always a mystery. They might serve as the game's icons or, during a certain season, sell propane and its accouterments.

In order to ensure that the defense is as strong as possible around Walker Kessler, you must locate reassurances. When all is said and done, the team might be a strong defensive team, but Kris Dunn is the next best defensive player behind Kessler, so if he isn't sure to make the squad, you might need to assist and support Kessler.

That's where a capable, defensive-minded flank could come in handy. After being traded by the Cavaliers, he was released by the San Antonio Spurs, which has sparked interest from other clubs. If he is still available later in the season, the Jazz should investigate his abilities.
