[UPDATE: Not anymore] Jazz, Raptors, and Grizzlies no longer discussing trade involving Lowry, Conley, Rubio

BULLET. DODGED.

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATE

PHEW. Tony Jones of The Athletic is reporting that the nightmarish hellscape settling scenario of our worst dreams possibility of Kyle Lowry to Utah is not gaining traction with anyone.

*big exhale*

This Trade Deadline is going to be the death of us all.

Mike Conley and his dad agent don’t want to stay in the Western Conference if he is traded. It appears Conley has a preference to head East according to Brian Windhorst and Marc Stein.

While that may not seem like a big deal, evidently it’s enough for Memphis to bring in Toronto and see if they want to make a three team trade a do a point guard swap.

While Utah was rumored during the summer of Gordon Hayward to be interested in Kyle Lowry, that was almost two years ago. They may still have interest, but Lowry is two years older at 32 years old while fighting back problems. The Utah Jazz are no strangers to players not wanting to play in Utah—cough, cough, screw you Rony Seikaly, cough, cough—the Jazz don’t want to royally screw over their good locker room and chemistry with someone who really doesn’t want to be there.

But as Tony Jones is reporting. What Conley wants in this comes second to what Memphis gets back in any trade, so maybe this all doesn’t matter anyway.
